Today marks the "12th Day of Christmas", more commonly known here in New Orleans as "12th Night". In the Christian world, this day commemorates the day that the Three Kings visited the baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in Bethlehem, While it marks the end of Christmas celebrations, it also kicks off the carnival season in New Orleans.
Mark your calendars -- Mardi Gras Day is Tuesday, February 28, 2017.

If you live in New Orleans, you are constantly given the opportunity to celebrate life. Today's rains may dampen the celebration of the Phunny Phorty Phellows and the Not So Secret Society of Elysian Fields, However, you can celebrate with us as Big Chief Monk Boudreaux & the Golden Eagles will be playing tonight at the Blue Nile. You can listen online at WWOZ.
Sometimes when you are sick, it is hard to find joy and the energy to celebrate, We are called, however, to celebrate life in this crazy city we call home.
