March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month

Go blue this month for colorectal cancer

by NOU Magazine
March is about to go blue.  For colorectal cancer awareness.    In February 2000, President Clinton officially dedicated March as National Colon Cancer Awareness Month.  According to the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) March has become a recognized rallying opportunity "for thousands of patients, survivors, caregivers and advocates throughout the country join together to spread colon cancer awareness by wearing blue, holding fundraising and education events, talking to friends and family about screening and so much more."
Find out more about colon cancer and wear your blue not just on the first Friday of this month as part of Dress in Blue Day, but throughout the month of March to raise awareness of colon cancer.   Events are going on throughout the country which you can find out about on the CCA website.  Whether you dress in blue, share videos and messages via social media, join Blue Hope Nation on Facebook or participate in one of the live events such as a walk or run in your boxers and briefs, we can all do our part to share the importance of screening and by learning the facts about colon cancer.
It's o.k. to be blue this March!   Be educated, be empowered, and spread the word!
