Press Street Gardens: A Project of the NOCCA Institute

As we all know, families and individuals can face significant financial burdens during and after treatment. We want to publicize interesting free and low-cost events in the metro area that may be of interest to you.

Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning laboratory funded by The NOCCA Institute , the nonprofit partner of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts

They grow fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, which are used by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students in their classroom training.
They provide produce to the Press Street Station, and  also sell it to local residents and businesses.
They offer an exciting urban green space for workshops, meetings, and other activities. Through these events, we hope to educate participants about topics ranging from proper gardening techniques, nutrition, and personal well-being to wetlands restoration and environmental stewardship.
