What the heck is a FONDEAUX ?!?
The "Gran Fondo," originating in Italy, is typically a long-distance road bicycle race, in which riders are individually chip timed and have the right of way at all intersections. The Beth's Friends' Fondeaux: Gears for Gals is a charitable bike ride benefiting Beth's Friends Forever, supporting women in the New Orleans community who are affected by cancer.
This is a ride, not a race, and there will be no chip timing. We encourage all levels of riders to participate.
In addition to the ride, the Fundeaux at the Fondeaux party at Armstrong Park will include fun events for the whole family! We will have music, food and drinks for participants, as well as food trucks for all.
Start/finish will be at Armstrong Park. Rides start at 7:30 a.m. There will be route support in the form of rest stop locations, traffic control, and SAG.
You can register as an individual or bring along your friends and register as a team.
Minimum age for individual riders is 18.
REGISTRATION: BFF on RaceDirector
Registration is $50, with opportunities for fundraising.
Three distance options are available: 50 miles, 25 miles, or 10 miles.
Check out the Fondeaux Route Maps!
