What do I get? In addition to the Official 2017 Eat Local Challenge T-shirt, one pound of Crowley, La. grown Cajun Country Rice, a 12 oz jar of Three Brothers Farm Raw Sugar, coupons and perks from our sponsors, a 10% discount at Hollygrove, Breaux Bridge salt, and a better awareness of where your food comes from you will also receive local tea and discounts from certain vendors at the Crescent City Farmers Market.
Save the Date: Kick Off Party is May 31st from 6 to 8 at Zeitgeist theater ( 1618 O.C. Haley Blvd) Come pick up your starter package, enjoy local foods, local libations and speakers to get prepped for 30 days of eating locally!
Got herbs? Now is a great time to start your herb garden to be ready to harvest in June. Save money, save gas and save time by growing your own. Mint, basil, sage, rosemary, and oregano are just a few starts that you can get at CCFM or Hollygrove.
Going Ultrastrict? Each year, as local food availability grows, it is easier and easier to go on a 100% all local diet in New Orleans. This year we have whole wheat flour and tea, but going on a 100% local diet can still be a challenge. We are looking for 3 participants to compete with us and take a two week Ultrastrict Challenge and document their efforts. A $75 food budget will be given to those who are accepted.
