ESPN reporter Holly Rowe announces her cancer has returned

ESPN reporter Holly Rowe told The Associated Press some unfortunate news. Her cancer, which she was first diagnosed with over two years ago, has returned and spread.

The news comes after ESPN announced that Rowe’s contract had been extended. Rowe had thought that she could potentially be one of the ESPN employees laid off, as a number of high profile reporters and personalities were let go last month.

Rowe told the AP that doing her job — she’s covered a variety of sports including college football in her 20-plus years at ESPN — helps keep her mind off her cancer treatments.
