Advocacy Request from the American Cancer Society

	"It’s for people like me. And without it, I wouldn’t be here today." That’s Laurie Merges, a breast cancer survivor from Ohio. But, she’s not referring to some new drug or breakthrough treatment. She’s talking about Medicaid. Just two months after Laurie lost her job due to company downsizing, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, Ohio had expanded their Medicaid program, and Laurie and her young children had enrolled. If the current health care law had not funded Ohio’s Medicaid, Laurie couldn’t have afforded the mammogram, chemotherapy and treatment that saved her life. Ask your U.S. Senators to reverse the Medicaid cuts included in the American Health Care Act recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. It only takes less than one minute using our easy action form. Laurie is still alive and just finished fighting her cancer. And her three children still have their mother. Let’s make sure families like Laurie’s continue to be protected in the Senate’s health care proposal.
