The debate in the Senate continues to escalate over what will be included in their version of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which will repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act or "Obamacare." Currently, Senators have not provided any information about what their bill might entail. Senate leaders are making decisions about this bill behind closed doors, which is unacceptable to cancer patients and survivors as the impact of the AHCA would be devastating.
The bill is likely to include many of the same provisions of the version passed by the House, causing 23 million to lose coverage, as well as the loss of essential health benefits, protections for individuals living with pre-existing conditions, and vital funding for the Medicaid program.
Now is the time to speak up! Call you Senators today and tell them that we deserve to know what is in their version of the AHCA. Access to quality health care is absolutely essential to those impacted by cancer, and this legislation will be devastating to those who need it most.
Thank you for your continued advocacy to protect individuals and families impacted by cancer.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Franklin
