Looking for some recipe ideas?  The Eat Local Challenge team will be posting 3 meals a day on our Ultra-Strict Challenge page   Looking for more?  Over 3 weeks of all local ingredient recipes are posted here on our website. 
 
Tonight See How it is Made: Old New Orleans Rum Distillery Tour. 6 to 8 pm  2815 Frenchmen Street. Free for Eat Local Challenge participants (regularly $15) Tastings of their rums included and 20% off case purchases. Bring your ELC ID cards. More details here.
 
Urban Farm Bike Tour:
Saturday 9 am to 2 pm

Meet up at 9 am at Hollygrove Market and Farm. (8301 Olive Street) Bikes leave at 10 sharp. Full map and details are here. Free for all.
Chicken Raising at Press Street Gardens:
Saturday 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Join Margee Green for this primer class for anyone interested in raising their own backyard chickens.  Can't get fresher eggs than from your own back yard.  Class is free for Eat Local Challengers and the general public.  7 Press Street.
Pecan Nut Milk and Nut Butter Class:
Sunday 11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Join Liliana Ruiz-Healy of South of Eden will be teaching this how to make delicious nut milk and nut butter class. Bring a small jar and participants can leave with a sample.  Class is $5 for Eat Local Challengers and for the general public.  At Zeitgeist, 1618 OC Haley Blvd. 
Pasta, Pastries, Bread and More:
Sunday 1 to 2 pm Zeitgeist

Chef Kelly Mayhew of Mayhew Bakery will be teaching what we can make with the organic whole wheat flour.  From pasta, to pastries to bread and pie crust, this class will cover the basics of making pasta and baking with flour.  $5 for ELC and Gen Public.  More details here. Kelly will also be selling loaves of bread made with this organic whole wheat flour from Inglewood Farm.

Late Registrations and Package Pick Ups 

It is not too late to sign up! We will be at the Crescent City Farmers Market (750 Carondelet) this Saturday from 8 to 12 and are bringing all of our schwag with us. If you have not signed up or picked up your registration packet you can do both on site there. Or you can sign uponline here too.
