The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), is
the nation’s leading cancer advocacy organization. ACS CAN works to hold
elected officials accountable. ACS CAN’s dedicated group of advocates help to
make sure cancer is a priority at both the state and national levels. This
cannot be accomplished without the help of our volunteers and advocates all
throughout Louisiana. Each advocate plays a very important role in making sure
that we are educating our elected officials and having the voice of our cancer
patients, survivors, and caregivers heard.
This year, ACS CAN Louisiana will be hosting an ACS CAN
Tournament Challenge. You can join in on the fun for only a $25 minimum
donation! With your contribution, you will become a member of ACS CAN or be
able to renew your membership. You will also be eligible to receive one of our
limited edition Picture a Cure Pins.
How do you play? It’s simple! When the bracket is announced on
March 15, all you have to do is fill out a tournament bracket and turn it in before the start of the first game.
Your bracket can be emailed to me (alice.williams@cancer.org)
or faxed to 225-767-1374. You can even turn in your
bracket to your local American Cancer Society office or staff partner. After
you have turned in your bracket and made your minimum donation of $25, you will
receive daily updates as to where you stand in the challenge. None of those
options work for you? We have a solution. You can call me at 251-295-8974 to
enter your bracket by phone. To register for the ACS CAN Tournament Challenge,
go to the link at the bottom of the page.
The winner of the challenge will receive an ACS CAN gift basket.
The winner will also receive an opportunity to be highlighted on our ACS CAN
Louisiana Facebook Page and share their story as to why they fight to put an
end to cancer.
