Advocacy Request from the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network

	Cathy, This is historic. It was just three years ago when more than 100,000 people signed our petition calling on Congress to increase cancer research funding by $1 billion. Today, with Congress having just passed its budget, our lofty goal became a reality. We’ve reached that $1 billion increase. Thanks to ACS CAN volunteers, our nation’s scientists will have $1 billion per year more than they did in 2015 to fund research for breast cancer and all cancers. The impact of this will be life-changing for millions of women. New cures. Better treatments. And more ways to prevent and detect breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stages.
