Visit NOMA with family and friends through New Year's Day
The holiday season is an ideal time to visit the New Orleans Museum of Art. Our galleries are filled with special exhibitions that range from The Orléans Collection of Old Masters from the sixteenth through eighteenth centuries to Japanese works by Zen masters and a display of photography that spans the history of the medium. Docent-guided tours and Small Talks will be offered frequently. Café NOMA makes for a pleasant repast, and the Museum Shop remains stocked year-round with unique gift items. NOMA is open during the following hours through January 1:
- Wednesday, December 26 - Friday, December 28: Museum OPEN 10 am - 6 pm, Sculpture Garden closes at 5 pm.
- Saturday, December 29: Museum and Sculpture Garden OPEN 10 am - 5 pm
- Sunday, December 30: Museum and Sculpture Garden OPEN 11 am - 5 pm
- New Year's Eve: Museum and Sculpture Garden OPEN 11 am - 5 pm
- New Year's Day: Museum and Sculpture Garden OPEN 11 am - 5 pm

Renowned art historians from Europe and across the US will gather at NOMA from January 11-12 to present a series of lectures related to The Orléans Collection. NOMA Book Club announces 2019 reading list and discussion dates
Eleven books, ranging from biographies of Leonardo Da Vinci and William de Kooning to the chronicle of a mysterious photo of bluesman Robert Johnson and the history of the chair, will fill the discussion of NOMA's Book Club throughout the year ahead. Join us for Small Talks, Noontime Talks, and daily tours
Small Talks are 10- to 15-minute discussions focused on a single object or small range of objects within the permanent collection or special exhibitions. For the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, a host of topics will be explored, including Joan Miró's The Red Disk and the Kunst Collection of Decorative Arts. Noontime Talks are casual conversations frequently scheduled throughout the year at noon between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors. Curator Vanessa Schmid will discuss The Orléans Collection on Friday, December 28.
Docent-guided tours are offered daily at 1 pm. Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Saturdays and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call 504.658.4153 to verify.

Mindfulness Classes return in January 2019
Back by popular demand, a series of eight Mindfulness Classes will offered on Saturday mornings from 10 to 11:30 am from January 19 through March 16. Dr. Jayashee Rao will lead sessions that allow participants to live in the moment with curiosity, without judgement, and with a willingness to be with what is. The registration fee for the entire series is $70 nonmembers | $50 NOMA members. Sign up now.

Studio KIDS! engages students in hands-on art workshops
Studio Kids allows children ages 5-10 the chance toget creative and learn art-making techniques. Special Studio KIDS! Holiday Workshops will be held on Thursday, December 27, and Friday, December 28 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Space is limited. Email education@noma.org to register: $25 NOMA members | $30 nonmembers.

Wellness Classes Among the Artworks
NOMA, in collaboration with East Jefferson Wellness Center, offers wellness classes every Saturday morning and Monday evening.
Yoga in the Sculpture Garden: Saturday, December 29, 8 - 9 am
Tai Chi/Chi Kung will not be held on Monday, December 31.
