NOMA alters hours for Mardi Gras weekend
As Carnival season comes to a close with Mardi Gras weekend, hours will be altered at the New Orleans Museum of Art and Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
Friday, March 1: NOMA closes at 6 pm, and the Sculpture Garden at 5 pm. There will be no Friday Nights at NOMA.
Saturday, March 2: NOMA and the Sculpture Garden are closed as City Park accommodates Endymion paradegoers.
Sunday, March 3: NOMA is open standard hours, 11 am to 5 pm, and the Sculpture Garden from 10 am to 5 pm.
Lundi Gras, Monday, March 4: NOMA and the Sculpture Garden are closed.
Mardi Gras, Tuesday, March 5: NOMA and the Sculpture Garden are closed
Ash Wednesday, March 6: NOMA reopens, 10 am to 6 pm, and the Sculpture Garden, 10 am to 5 pm.

Summer Art Camps open for enrollment
Enrollment in full-day Summer Art Camps, which will run in eight weeklong sessions from June 3 to August 2 (excluding the week of July 4), is now open to both NOMA members ($300 per week) and nonmembers ($400 per week). Choose from visual or performing art camps for age groups 5-7 and 8-10.

Join a talk or tour
Noontime Talks are casual conversations scheduled at noon between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors. Curator Vanessa Schmid will discuss a recent acquisition, Léopold Burthe's Angelique, onWednesday, February 27.
Docent-guided tours are offered daily at 1 pm. Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Saturdays and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call 504.658.4153 to verify.

NOMA Book Club to discuss life and work of Louisiana-born artist Keith Sonnier
Join fellow book lovers for monthly discussions about fiction and nonfiction books related to art, artists, art museums, NOMA's collections and exhibitions.
The NOMA Book Club's selection for March is Keith Sonnier: Until Today by Jeffrey Grove and Terrie Sultan, the catalog that accompanies an exhibition of works by the Louisiana-born conceptual artist opening at NOMA on March 15.
A curatorial program will be held for book club members on Friday, March 15, from 12 - 1 pm. Group discussion about the book will be held in the Felix J. Dreyfous Library on NOMA's ground floor on Tuesday, March 26, from 12 - 1 pm. NOMA is for kids!
Studio KIDS! returns with a range of activities that allow children ages 5 to 10 to get creative in an art making class. Each session features different media under the instruction of skilled teaching artists. Studio KIDS! will be held on the following Saturday mornings from 10 to 11:30 am:
- March 9 - Pastel Drawing: Vibrant Blooms
- March 16 - Acrylic Painting: Color Me Happy
- April 6 - Personal Pendant

Wellness Classes among the artworks
NOMA, in collaboration with East Jefferson Wellness Center, offers wellness classes every Saturday morning and Monday evening.
Yoga in the Sculpture Garden: No session for Saturday, March 2
Tai Chi/Chi Kung: No session for Monday, March 4

In the weeks ahead
There will be no Friday Nights at NOMA for March 1 and 8.
Friday, March 15: A new exhibition, Keith Sonnier: Until Today, opens. This survey of the Louisiana-born conceptual artist features many sculptural works made of neon.
