First Ladies of the Struggle

Viola Washington of the Welfare Rights Organization will present a lecture on the commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King and the contribution of black women to the struggle. There will also be a discussion on melanin (the pigmentation that gives us our skin color) and the one-drop rule. A short question-and-answer session will follow the lecture.

Workforce Development Series: Bring Your Résumé Afternoon

Bring your résumé to be reviewed and learn how to improve it. Bring your résumé for Jessica to review and make recommendations to improve it. You will have an opportunity to ask your important résumé questions, specific to your experience and targeted position. Bring two (2) copies of your résumé for review. You must arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time and sign in to have your résumé reviewed. Jessica will review 10 résumés, so be sure to arrive early to sign in.
