| BESTHOFF SCULPTURE GARDEN EXPANSION OPENS
Featuring 26 works by artists working primarily in the 21st century, the much-anticipated expansion of the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden opens to the public on Wednesday, May 15, at 11 am. Be among the first to stroll the grounds of this exciting addition to NOMA and walk the unique canal link bridge connecting the gardens that dips into the lagoon. Three food trucks will be parked in the vicinity. The sculpture garden is always free of charge and open seven days a week.

Nuit Brillante: A Late Night Celebration features Haitian-themed entertainment, NOMA open till midnight on May 17
NOMA will extend hours till midnight on Friday, May 17, for Nuit Brillante: A Late Night Celebration. Enjoy dance music by Cliff Notez and Windows 98 of Arcade Fire, a Haitian dance workshop with Chakra Dance Theatre and drummers, gallery talks, and food by Café NOMA, Diva Dawgs Food Truck, and Fritai NOLA. Purchase advance tickets for $20 or at the door.

A Shakespearean sequel arrives in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, run extended through May 31
The NOLA Project returns to the Besthoff Sculpture Garden for fifteen nights from May 8 - 31 with a new play by Michael Aaron Santos specifically written for the space. The Henchman: A Shakespeare Story is a spinoff to A Midsummer Night's Dream that provides a sequel story about the character Jacob, the changeling boy. NOMA Book Club to discuss Da Vinci biography
The NOMA Book Club's selection for May is Leonardo Da Vinci by Walter Isaacson. Group discussion about the book will be held on Thursday, May 16, from 12 - 1 pm. Enroll now for two-day intensive Mindfulness class
Back by popular demand, a two-day intensive course in Mindfulness will be offered on Saturday June 1, and Sunday, June 2, from 10 am to 5 pm. Dr. Jayashee Rao will lead sessions that allow participants to live in the moment with curiosity, without judgement, and with a willingness to be with what is. Few spaces remain for Summer Art Camps
Summer Art Camps are selling out fast. Enroll now in any or all of the eight weeklong sessions from June 3 to August 2 (excluding the week of July 4). The fee is $300 per week for NOMA members | $400 per week for nonmembers. Choose from visual or performing art camps for age groups 5-7 and 8-10.

Join a talk or tour
Gallery Talks are casual conversations scheduled at noon between artists, curators, and other special guests with NOMA visitors. Curatorial Fellow Kelsey Brosnan will guide visitors through the exhibition Paper Revolutions: French Drawings from the New Orleans Museum of Art on Wednesday, May 15, at noon. Curatorial Fellow Brian Piper will discuss
on Wednesday, May 22, at noon.
Guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm. Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call 504.658.4153 to verify.

Wellness Classes among the artworks
NOMA, in collaboration with East Jefferson Wellness Center, offers wellness classes every Saturday morning and Monday evening.
Yoga in the Sculpture Garden: Saturday, May 18, 8 - 9 am
Tai Chi/Chi Kung: Monday, May 20, 6 - 7 pm
Classes are $5; FREE for NOMA members and East Jefferson Wellness Center members. To register, call East Jefferson Healthfinder at 504.456.5000.
