Final Week of the "Eat Local" Challenge

The Eat Local Challenge is coming upon the final stretch but we're not slowing down! Check out the events we're hosting Tuesday and Wednesday below and stay tuned for details about events later in the week!
Farmers Market Bingo will take place at Second Line Brewing tomorrow, Tuesday June 25 from 6pm-8pm. Second Line will be offering a 10% discount during the time of bingo for all brews! 
Second Line Brewing is a family (and dog!) friendly space located at 433 N Bernadotte Street with outdoor seating, kids activities, and a food truck.
Prizes include fresh produce, CCFM merch, gift cards from local restaurants, CSA boxes and local spirits. 
An educational, interactive garden party and workshop, hosted by Thrive New Orleans and facilitated by Reedy Brooks.

At the Garden Party, we'll explore the gardening and foraging traditions of Black New Orleanians. Guests will share food, thoughts, and ideas centered around the garden as a site of liberation, therapy, and resistance in Black African history and culture.

The event will feature music and small plates in honor of the phenomenal woman and leader, Leah Chase.

Meauxbar will be hosting another Eat Local Dinner as part of the Summer Dinner Series. The Eat Local Dinner will take place on Wednesday June 26 and costs $45 per person (not including tax and gratuity).
The meal is served family style and has three courses. The first course includes grilled ratatouille salad with eggplant, summer squash, peppers, Louisiana crab, smoked tomato and persillade. The second course consists of roasted Chappapeela Farms pork loin with succotash and smoked pork marmalade. The meal finishes with blueberry shortcake with citrus honey chantilly as dessert.

Crescent City Farmers Market is having weekly kids activities during June! It's the perfect time to directly support your local farmers, fishers and food makers. More info on our calendar.
