Baby Artsplay returns with new interactive Saturday morning workshops for newborns/infants and 3-4-year-olds
Instill a love of art at a young age through a guided, hands-on gallery experience. With support from The Helis Foundation, teaching artists from Young Audiences Wolf Trap will provide a free six-part workshop series on Saturday mornings designed to instruct caregivers on how to use the arts at home to promote early learning. Workshop 2 begins Saturday, June 8, for children ages 0-3 from 10:30 to 11 am, followed by a workshop for 3-4-year-olds from 11 to 11:30 am. Few spaces remain for Summer Art Camps
Summer Art Camps are now underway, and a few spaces remain in the weeks come. Enroll now in the seven weeklong sessions yet to come through August 2 (excluding the week of July 4). The fee is $300 per week for NOMA members | $400 per week for nonmembers. Choose from visual or performing art camps for age groups 5-7 and 8-10.

Join a talk or tour
Guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm. Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call 504.658.4153 to verify.

Free admission for military families through Labor Day
The New Orleans Museum of Art is pleased to once again participate in BlueStar Museums, a collaboration between the National Endowment for the Arts, BlueStar Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America.
Each summer since 2010, Blue Star Museums have offered free admission to the nation's active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, from Memorial Day through Labor Day (Monday, September 2). More than 2,000 museums across America are participating in Blue Star Museums.

Wellness Classes among the artworks
NOMA, in collaboration with East Jefferson Wellness Center, offers wellness classes every Saturday morning and Monday evening.
Yoga in the Sculpture Garden: Saturday, June 8, 8 - 9 am
Tai Chi/Chi Kung: Monday, June 10, 6 - 7 pm
Classes are $5; FREE for NOMA members and East Jefferson Wellness Center members. To register, call East Jefferson Healthfinder at 504.456.5000.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture opened as part of the Smithsonian Institution in 2016. The building was designed by architect David Adjaye.

In the weeks ahead
Friday, June 14, 5 - 9 pm: In partnership with the Louisiana Architecture Foundation and the Louisiana chapter of the National Minority Architects, NOMA will screen the documentary The Black Museum, which chronicles the construction and 2016 opening the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
Friday, June 21, 5 - 9 pm: Self-described "NOLAmerican" musician Lynn Drury will perform during Friday Nights at NOMA.
Sunday, June 23, 6:30 - 9 pm: NOMA will partner with Narrative 4 for an admission-free Evening of Music and Literature as eight renowned international authors will read from their works, accompanied by live music that reflects the individual author's home nation.
Friday, June 29, 5 - 9 pm: NOMA's next major exhibition, Bodies of Knowledge, opens with a dance performance at 5 pm during Friday Nights at NOMA specially choreographed for the occasion, gallery talks by represented artists, and music by Amigos de Samba.
