Marathon Reading: The Constitution of the United States

We the People of the United States will celebrate Constitution Week by reading aloud The Constitution. Interested in being a reader? Sign up at the desk or call 504-596-2570. Drop in for your favorite sections or listen to the entire document. Sponsored by and featuring a Constitution Week display by the Spirit of '76 Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Central City Library is Moving to a New Larger Location this Fall: Allie Mae Williams Multi Service Center at 2020 Jackson Avenue

Library services within the Mahalia Jackson Learning Center will end Thursday, September 26.

Pop-up Library Service: Until the new location opens this fall, there will be three-day-a-week Library service outside of the new location.

Pop-up Library Hours and Services:
Mondays, 2pm - 6pm
Wednesdays, 2pm - 6pm
Saturdays, 10am - 2pm
  • All ages Library materials for checkout
  • Children’s crafts & toys
  • Weekly Storytimes every Saturday at 10:30am
  • Free WiFi Access
