Topics will include talking to your pharmacist, tips for improving communication with your doctor, healthy grocery shopping on a budget, and finding reliable health information online. How is a chart like a comic strip? What’s so creepy and compelling about the human body? Why make a wordless encyclopedia? Kate Lacour will chat about her graphic novel Vivisectionary. The conversation will touch on the balance between beauty and horror, the aesthetics of natural history, and the place of the grotesque in art. More information here. Healthy Women New Orleans

This series is part of a Women’s Health Initiative that will take place at New Orleans Public Library locations throughout the City of New Orleans and provide blood pressure screenings, provider consultations, health education, and resources to the women of New Orleans.

Presented by Touro, the Mayor’s Office of Youth and Family Services, and the New Orleans Public Library.
