December 1: NOMA partners with Visual AIDS for video screenings and panel discussion on World AIDS Day
In partnership with Visual AIDS, NOMA will screen seven new videos examining the HIV/AIDS epidemic, followed by a panel discussion among local activists on Sunday, December 1, from 2 to 4 pm. The program is free with museum admission.

Guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm.
Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call (504) 658-4153 to verify.

Studio KIDS! December workshops open for enrollment
This fall Studio KIDS! presents eight workshops for children ages 5 to 10 who want to get creative and learn art-making techniques inspired by works at NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The classes are held Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm; cost per class: $25 members | $30 nonmembers. Two workshops remain for 2019: December 7 (Zentangle pen drawings) and December 14 (Stained-glass windows). Baby ArtsPlay! workshops engage visitors ages 0-3
Instill a love of art at an early age through a guided, interactive experience with Baby ArtsPlay! Young Audiences Wolf Trap teaching artists will present a series of six workshops on Saturday mornings for children ages 0-3 and their caregivers. Parents, grandparents, guardians and their young ones are welcome to join the the fifth session on Saturday, November 30, at 10:30 am, which will focus on "Baby Balancing Acts" (Bilaterial Integration). In the weeks ahead
Saturday, December 7, 12 pm: Art scholar Kelly Presutti, a contributor to the catalog for Inventing Acadia, will lead visitors through the exhibition while discussing her research into nineteenth-century Louisiana landscape painting.
Saturday, December 7, 2 pm: The first in a series of four screenings of films by Deltaworkers, a New Orleans-based arts collaborative, collectively titled Fragmented Landscapes, will focus on the terrain of contemporary Louisiana.
Saturday, December 14, 10 am: In conjunction with Inventing Acadia, Xodo Botanicals will lead a scent-blending workshop that allows participants to create a unique fragrance from essential oils and native raw materials. $25 NOMA Members | $30 Nonmembers. Advance registration is required.
