Workforce Development Series: Returning to the Workforce

Are you returning to the workforce after a period of unemployment due to life circumstances like parenthood or incarceration? You have been out of the workforce for a few or several years and want to return. It can be a daunting task to know where to begin to find the right job for you. Learn to identify the skills you possess and how to create a résumé that supports your unique skill set and former experience. Learn how to present yourself in the interview for a positive outcome. Dr. Morley

Library Board of Directors Selects Dr. Gabriel Morley as Library Executive Director/City Librarian

The New Orleans Public Library Board of Directors approved Gabriel Morley as the new Library Executive Director/City Librarian at a special board meeting held earlier today. The NOPL Board voted unanimously to recommend Morley after a six-month national search.

Dr. Morley grew up in Slidell and is currently the executive director of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System. He earned a master's degree in library science and a doctorate in adult education from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is expected to take the helm at NOPL beginning early January 2020.
