Audubon Nature Institute Community Connect Programs

Sharing the wonders of nature with children and families in our community.
Audubon Nature Institute continues its commitment to engaging and educating the community about the wonders of nature by renewing the Audubon Community Connect program in 2020. This ongoing initiative helps to grow accessibility to Audubon Zoo, Audubon Aquarium, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, and Audubon Louisiana Nature Center for New Orleanians.

The Audubon Community Connect program consists of three components:
Orleans Parish Appreciation Days
Every Wednesday, Orleans Parish residents with a valid government-issued photo ID enjoy free admission with up to four guests to Audubon attractions. Appreciation days rotate each week from the Zoo, Aquarium, Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, and Planetarium (Audubon Louisiana Nature Center).
Audubon SNAP Program
Year-round, Orleans Parish Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program participants with a valid government-issued photo ID that matches their SNAP card enjoy complimentary admission for up to five as long as one of the five is an accompanying adult to any Audubon facility. Restrictions may apply for special events.
Audubon Museum Partner Pass
Audubon has partnered with New Orleans Public Library to offer Library Passes for checkout by library cardholders. Audubon has provided two Library Passes to each public library in Orleans Parish. Each pass provides entry for two adults and seven children during a two-week period.
