Artist Regina Agu, whose panoramic work titled Passage fills the Great Hall, will be the guest speaker at The Helis Foundation Lecture on Wednesday, December 18, at 6 pm. She will be joined in conversation with fellow artist Tia-Simone Gardner. Admission to NOMA is free for all Louisiana residents on Wednesdays courtesy of The Helis Foundation.

Guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm.
Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call (504) 658-4153 to verify.

Studio KIDS! workshops in 2020 open for enrollment
From January through Studio KIDS! presents eight workshops for children ages 5 to 10 who want to get creative and learn art-making techniques inspired by works at NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The classes are held Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm; cost per class: $25 members | $30 nonmembers. The first workshop of the new year starts January 25 (water-based paints). In the weeks ahead
December 24, 25, 31 and January 1: NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden will be open from 10 am to 3 pm on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day. Visit on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day during special holiday hours from 11 am to 5 pm.
Friday, January 10: Friday Nights at NOMA returns with a series of Gallery Talks about Inventing Acadia with a focus on the depiction or absence of African Americans in Louisiana landscape paintings of the nineteenth century.
Wednesday, January 15, 6 pm:
, whose wall mosaic titled Viñales (Mayombe Mississippi) is among the works in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, will discuss the influences that shape her art.
Saturday, January 18, 10 am to 3 pm: Enroll now in Beyond Gee's Bend: A Community Quilting Workshop, which will include textile demonstrations, a musical performance, and a lecture by Dr. Elizabeth Townsend Gard of the Just Wanna Quilt podcast. $35 members | $40 nonmembers (lunch is included in the fee).
