This Week at the New Orleans Public Library (for Adults)

Adult Events

All New Orleans Public Library locations will be closed for the holidays on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25.

PhotoNOLA: "West End Ruins"

Romi Voorhies's solo landscape series is devoted to the vestiges along Lake Pontchartrain’s southern shore at West End in New Orleans. It was once a beloved and nostalgic restaurant and social hub for local families, friends, and couples. Katrina managed to devastate most all that stood there except for these emotionally stirring remnants. Romi Voorhies is a Louisiana-based photographer and occupational therapist with a love for landscape and abstract photography. This series is made up of both black and white and color prints of the ruins at West End.
