Bystander Response Training

Before first responders arrive, you can save a life by knowing how to provide hands-only CPR, administer Naloxone, and stop bleeding. This two-hour class will teach participants how to identify someone who has overdosed from opioids, gone into cardiac arrest, or has uncontrolled bleeding. Black History Under the Kanopy: A Series Featuring African American Movies on Kanopy

She Did That film screening followed by discussion. Light refreshments will be served. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Helmed by PR veteran, successful blogger, and first-time filmmaker Renae Bluitt, the documentary turns the lens on several members of the surging population of black female entrepreneurs making waves across industries.

BHM Poster Contest

Enter the Black History Month Student Poster Design Contest

All entries will be judged on creativity, artistic merit, and best representation of the 2020 Black History Month theme: “African Americans and the Vote." Winning posters will be displayed at all 15 Library locations. Copies of the winning posters will be given to winners and their schools.

Entry Deadline: Saturday, February 29 at 5pm
