Friday Nights at NOMA features African art panel with performances by guest artists and Bamboula 2000
Friday Nights at NOMA on February 7, from 5 to 9 pm, welcomes three artists whose practice is informed by African art: Akirash, Daniel Callahan, and Jessica Strahan. Curator Ndubuisi Ezeluomba will lead a panel discussion and gallery talk and both Akirash and Callahan will present performance pieces in the Great Hall. Bamboula 2000 will also provide musical entertainment. All galleries and exhibitions, Café NOMA, and the Museum Shop remain open until 9 pm. 2020 Summer Camp spots available now for NOMA members, general enrollment begins Friday, February 7
NOMA members may now enroll kids ages 5 through 10 in a series of six weeklong Summer Art Camps in the months of June and July. Campers will explore the museum's galleries and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden for inspiration, and explore their own ideas and creative responses about art and human connection through a variety of mediums. Sign your young artist up for one session, or many! NEW THIS YEAR is a Teen Intensive for campers ages 11 through 13 from June 8-12. Members may now enroll at the rate of $300 per week | Nonmembers may begin enrolling on Friday, February 7, at 6 pm at the rate of $400 per week.

Studio KIDS! workshops open for enrollment
Now through April, Studio KIDS! presents four remaining workshops for children ages 5 to 10 who want to get creative and learn art-making techniques inspired by works at NOMA and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The classes are held Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm. The next workshop will be held on February 8 under the theme "Winged Beings." Don't miss an epic panoramic photo installation in the Great Hall that depicts scenes of the Louisiana wetlands. Passage was created in partnership with A Studio in the Woods.

Renovation underway to build multifunctional auditorium
Construction has begun to transform NOMA's existing auditorium into a flexible and contemporary space ideal for hosting a wider range of events and programs, from theater-in-the-round to banquets, along with movies, lectures, music, dance, and other performances.

Attend a gallery talk
Guided tours of the museum are offered daily at 1 pm.
Tours of the Besthoff Sculpture Garden are given on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at noon, weather permitting. Call (504) 658-4153 to verify.

Teen Days of Service scheduled through spring 2020
Teens of all ages are invited to participate in monthly days of service in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden on the following Saturdays: February 29, March 28, and April 25, from 8:30 to 11:30 am. Contact Garden Manager Pamela Buckman at (504) 658-4153.

Wednesday, March 25: SAVE THE DATE! Sponsorships and tickets are on sale for the patron preview, lectures, and a luncheon for the 2020 Art in Bloom presented by IBERIABANK. The showcase of floral displays will be on view from Thursday, March 26*, through Sunday, March 29. (*Note that public hours will be from 1 - 7 pm on March 26; standard hours apply to all other days.)
