March 2020
Dear Advocates and Friends,
Last month I noted that 2020 was already off to a hectic start and it has only become more eventful since then. We know that the top concern on many people’s minds is the impact of the novel coronavirus (or COVID-19), especially for people living with compromised immune systems. We hope you will take a moment to visit our website to learn what cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers need to know about COVID-19, and the actions CSC is taking to provide support to individuals impacted by cancer.
On a positive note, we are thrilled to introduce you to this month’s featured advocate, Lauren Barnes, who chairs the CSC Board of Directors. Lauren is a fierce and longtime advocate for people living with cancer and we know you will be inspired learning more about her. We also want to thank those of you who participated in our virtual advocacy day on March 4. We were excited with the outstanding response and look forward to updating you on this important work to ensure that the full patient experience is incorporated in all levels of policy making.
As always, thank you for your partnership!

If you are a person impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), are living with cancer, or are immunocompromised, one important way to maintain some sense of control in what might be an anxiety-provoking time is to understand what is being done from a policy perspective to help respond to the pandemic.

Recent Cancer Support Community Policy Comments
The Cancer Support Community has recently released a policy position statement on the recent Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicaid guidance on block grants.
