Ask Your Lawmakers to Support Breast Cancer Patients in the Next COVID-19 Relief Package

While the COVID-19 crisis continues, Congress is planning for their next COVID-19 package. Help us ensure policies are included that will protect and support breast cancer patients. Nearly 1,500 letters have already been sent to lawmakers from their constituents through our campaign, but we need your voice!

An estimated 279,100 women and men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 42,690 will die from the disease in 2020 alone. On behalf of these Americans, we are asking Congress to prioritize:
  • Implementation of Chemotherapy Parity
  • Access to Clinical Trials for Life-Threatening Conditions
  • Opening Healthcare.gov Enrollment
  • Addressing Surprise Medical Billing
  • Expanding Paid Leave

State Advocacy Continues

Due to the economic crisis from COVID-19, we are expecting a significant strain to extend to state budgets. Reports have already started coming in about how dire the budget forecast is looking in some states, which could mean life-saving programs  such as Medicaid or the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program are at risk of being scaled back or having budgets cut. Potential budget gaps will make our work at the state level even more critical to ensure these programs don’t face devastating budget cuts at a time when health care has never been more important. Be sure you opt-in for text and email alerts so we can notify you when we need your voice.

We Need Your Stories

Lawmakers need to hear from you now, more than ever. If you’ve been unable to access the care or treatment you need, either in person or through telehealth, have experienced any delays, or are unable to pay for your care due to financial insecurity, tell us at policy@komen.org. We want to know what challenges you are now facing due to COVID-19.
