NEW ACQUISITIONS AND EXHIBITIONS
A commissioned garniture set by Philadelphia-based artist Roberto Lugo is now on view in the Decorative Arts Galleries. The "Stunting" porcelain vases and sculpture include depictions of Louis Armstrong, Lil Wayne, and a gold tank representing No Limit Soldiers hip-hop artists.
VISIT NOMA ON LABOR DAY, 10 AM TO 3 PM
NOMA is open Wednesday through Sunday. The galleries welcome visitors from 10 am to 5 pm, while the Besthoff Sculpture Garden may be visited from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Visit during special holiday hours on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, from 10 am to 3 pm. Prepaid, contactless ticketing is encouraged for museum visits. Wednesdays remain free for Louisiana residents courtesy of The Helis Foundation.
TEEN ART COUNCIL
Teens may apply now for NOMA's Teen Art Council, an arts-immersion program that allows teens to plan and implement programs for their peers.
EXHIBITIONS
Opening October 9, Mending the Sky will feature work by eleven artists that address the aftermath of chaos and calamity while offering visions of a more equitable future.
