For Adults: Identifying your Catholic Ancestors Fall Workshop Series - Session 3: Navigating Newspaper Databases for Obituaries

In session 3, learn to use your regional public library cards to access newspaper databases and find obituaries, which are often the starting point for locating and researching Catholic ancestors.

About the series: Amanda Fallis of the City Archives & Special Collections is joined by Kimberly Johnson and Katie Vest from the Archives of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Heather Veneziano from New Orleans Catholic Cemeteries for a 6-week virtual Zoom series on researching your New Orleans Catholic ancestors.

We are excited to share these digital lectures with our Southeast Louisiana neighbors. They will be free and open to everyone, with a maximum Zoom capacity of 300 attendees. Digital handouts will be made available the week before each session at archives.nolalibrary.org, and recordings will be posted the week after each session runs.

Once you register, check your email and spam folder for information on how to join the Zoom meeting.
