NOMA REOPENS FOLLOWING HURRICANE IDA
We are excited to have reopened the museum to our community this week. The museum resumes its regular hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10 am–5 pm.
Visitors can explore the Besthoff Sculpture Garden beginning Thursday, September 16. Please use the entrance on Enrique Alférez Drive as parts of the garden will remain closed until Saturday, September 18, as we clean up debris left from Hurricane Ida.
While the last two weeks have been a difficult time for all of us, we are happy to welcome visitors again to NOMA. We are grateful for the city, state, and federal response to Hurricane Ida and we are in solidarity with all of South Louisiana, who continue to show true courage and character in the face of adversity.
At this time, we recommend supporting national, regional, and local organizations helping those most in need, including AmeriCares, Second Harvest Food Bank, Feed the Second Line, the United Houma Nation, and House of Tulip.
For more post-storm updates from NOMA, read director Susan M. Taylor’s letter in full.
