'Green' Gumbo (Gumbo z'Herbes) Recipe | SAVEUR

There are lots of great versions of gumbo z'herbes, such as those from local chef extraordinaire Leah Chase, but we chose this particular recipe because it's relatively simple, and because it's vegetarian, and we know many of our customers are looking for more "veggieful" meals in their life. Use as many greens as you can (cabbage, kale, mustards, collards, the tops of root veggies) for a more complex flavor, and use a broth or stock in place of the water for more oomph.

Mission
Hollygrove Market and Farm exists to increase accessibility of fresh, local produce to Hollygrove, surrounding under served neighborhoods, and New Orleans at large.

In addition to our market, we operate an urban farm containing farm plots, demonstration beds, and community gardens. The mission of the farm is to provide information and training to backyard gardeners interested in growing organic fruits, herbs, and vegetables. We strive to make our urban farm accessible and relevant to everyone from first time gardeners to experienced farmers.

Movie Night In the Garden - Come See Sister Act 1 THIS FRIDAY

We occasionally like to highlight free and low cost events in our area as we know cancer patients and survivors often struggle financially. But we do live in New Orleans where we know everyone needs to occasionally go out and play.......

Join us for Hollygrove Market & Farm's first outdoor movie experience! We're bustin' out the projector and screening Sister Act! This is a BYOB event, and we'll have plenty of mixers, kombucha and soda. Come for snacks and drinks around 7pm  on Friday, June 30th.The movie starts at sundown, around 8:00.
