Bio – The opera legend lost his battle with cancer at the age of 71.
Short Story – The italian opera superstar was gifted with a voice that is unforgettable. The tenor’s version of Ave Maria will forever linger in the hearts of many. Although criticized for performing and recording with commercial stars such as James Brown and the Spice Girls, Pavarotti carved his own path to fame.
Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2006, the singer lost his battle in September 2007. The singer is credited to bringing opera to a wider audience and his voice was the icon of the 1990 football World Cup.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of death from cancer in the United States.
