Happy Fall, New Orleans!

Finally, some cooler temperatures have arrived! Ahead of the holiday cooking season and cold temperatures requiring heating, take time to review your home's fire safety.
  1. Make and practice a fire escape plan with your family. Use this family-friendly planning tool if you need assistance.
  2. Install smoke alarms in every sleeping area in your home. Need smoke alarms? The New Orleans Fire Department will install them free of charge. This program also includes alarms for deaf and hard-of-hearing residents. Request yours today.
  3. Cook safely. Stay in the kitchen when you're cooking on the stove.
Check out more fire safety tips at nola.gov/nofd or stop by the City Hall lobby this Thursday, October 10 to chat with the New Orleans Fire Department.
Until next month,
- The Team at NOLA ReadyHelping you stay #ReadyYearRound
