My Feelings Are Too Big! A Family Workshop on Emotion

In this hands-on workshop, psychologists from UNO will discuss ways families can work together to recognize and manage emotions and appreciate positive moods in the moment. Snacks will be provided.

Why do we have emotions? What purpose do our moods serve? What are some ways that you can manage the hard ones? Come and learn about your emotions, moods, and feelings with psychologists from UNO. We will explore the function of emotions from a scientific perspective, while also providing tips on recognizing, appreciating, and managing emotions for parents and kids. Recommended for parents and kids ages 7 - 12.

Communication Skills for Couples: Strengthen Your Connection

Learn how to relate, empathize, support & connect to your partner; improve your verbal & non-verbal communication; and identify the ways you express affection & learn each other's "love language." This program will be facilitated by Dr. Lakshmi Dajak, M.D. Ph.D., a licensed marriage and family therapist, individual counselor, and relationship educator.

Get Books by Mail

Books-by-Mail provides free home book delivery for Library users who are unable to leave their home due to permanent or temporary disability. The Books-by-Mail service is available to all residents of Orleans Parish over eighteen years of age with a Library card and who are homebound due to medical or mobility issues.
