Wishing You a Happy New Year!   After an incredible 2017 that included delivering presentations in 23 states — from Portland to Charleston (and everywhere in between); reviewing 245 resumes for job-seeking cancer survivors; distributing more than 72,600 publications nationwide to patients, caregivers, hospitals, employers and anyone touched by cancer; and reaching more than 475,000 people via cancerandcareers.org and cancerandcareers.org/espanol, we are excited to bring you even more in 2018! CAC's mission to empower and educate people with cancer to thrive in their workplace has never been more necessary. This program offers cancer patients and survivors financial assistance to acquire or advance job-related skills. A 2016 Micro-Grant recipient said: “I had lost a lot of my identity when I had to leave my job because of cancer. [Receiving the micro-grant] was a huge step for my recovery—to reclaim my career.” Some examples of how the micro-grants can be used include online courses, career coaching, workshops and certifications.
